Clients find that as the relationship with one’s self improves, there is a deepening of satisfaction in one’s relationship with others. My therapeutic style draws from such therapies as Client-Centred Therapy, Internal Family Systems (IFS), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), and Accelerated Experiential Dynamic Psychotherapy (AEDP). Additionally, I offer Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) for those who prefer this technique as a means of working through traumatic memories.
I was born in a rural Acadian community on the rocky shores of Nova Scotia, and lived in that province for the first 20 years of my life. I later ventured out into other parts of Canada and also worked in rural areas of the Philippines for 5 years as a community health care educator, becoming much involved in the grass roots movement to revitalize the use of herbal medicines in that country. Returning to Canada, I began my career as a clinical psychologist. I currently enjoy life and work primarily in Vancouver, BC.

I am registered with the College of Psychologists of BC (Registration #1394) and am a member of the British Columbia Psychological Association (BCPA) as well as the American Psychological Association (APA)
My usual fee is $235 for one 55-minute treatment session, as recommended by the British Columbia Psychological Association. Longer treatment sessions can be negotiated as well. If you have extended medical coverage, all or part of my fee is likely to be covered for a certain number of sessions. If you are unsure, please contact your insurance company to inquire about the extent of your coverage. It is important to note that the Medical Services Plan of BC does not cover private psychological services. I am able to offer a reduced fee for a limited number of clients based on income level.
Clients pay by cash, cheque, Interac e-Transfer, or credit card at the end of each therapy session, and I provide a receipt which you may submit for reimbursement under your extended medical plan, or for income tax deductions as medical expenses. In most cases, I do not provide direct billing with insurance companies, but exceptions are occasionally made. Unless due to sudden illness or emergencies, 24-hour notice is required if you need to cancel or reschedule. Otherwise, clients are required to pay full fee for missed sessions.
