My usual fee is $200 for one treatment session, following the rate recommendation of the British Columbia Psychological Association. A regular treatment session is 60 minutes. Longer treatment sessions can be negotiated as well. If you have extended medical coverage, all or part of my fee is likely to be covered for a certain number of sessions. If you are unsure, please contact your insurance company to inquire about the extent of your coverage. It is important to note that the Medical Services Plan of BC does not cover private psychological services. I am able to offer a reduced fee for a limited number of clients based on income level.
Clients pay by cash, cheque, Interac e-Transfer, or credit card at the end of each therapy session, and I provide a receipt which can be submitted for reimbursement under your extended medical plan, or for income tax deductions as medical expenses. If you have an insurance plan or third party coverage which allows for direct billing by the psychologist, and you prefer it, I will invoice them directly. Twenty-four hour notice is required if you need to cancel or reschedule.
If you have been the victim of a crime, it is likely that you are eligible for psychological services to aid in your recovery. For more information, and to download an application form, go to: www.pssg.gov.bc.ca/victim_services/cva/ or call (604) 660-3888.
